by Jeff Thng, Gin Yong Ong, Weili Zhang, and Kwok Boon Yong

Recorded on April 19, 2024

Career Development Theories are useful in the design and enactment of career education curriculum and career coaching offered to student-clients at university. The coach-client relationship in career development consultation involves a revelation of interests and values, on top of skills remediation or gap identification for the chosen path. The influence career coaches have over the student-clients is significant. The career coach not only opens doors to the industry but also doors to self-realization, especially in times of doubt and disruption posed by AI. With a working knowledge of Happenstance Learning Theory specifically, career coaches can see the invisible in the clients.
