This is the first of a 2-part webinar series from The Gender Lab where facilitators will explore 'intersectionality' through a participatory workshop. The various identities we hold impact our everyday choices, thoughts and abilities. Beyond that our identities also affect our ability to access resources and opportunities. In this workshop we will learn about Intersectionality, how it shows up for each of us and why it is an important lens to build.
Ayushi Banerji is Co-founder/Director of The Gender Lab. She has a decade of experience working with adolescents and youth in urban and rural India. An alumnus of St.Xaviers College, Mumbai, Ayushi is a G(irls)20 ambassador, participant at Women’s Forum, Paris, World Economic Forum Global Shaper and an Acumen India Fellow 2019. She has been involved in training and creating learning experiences on gender and leadership for organizations such as SheNomics Lead Like a Girl Fellowship, NBA, Plane Jar, Global Shapers Rotterdam Hub, SECMOL and Masoom. She was invited to speak on the panel at Women's Forum, Paris on bridging the age gap in the future of work for women and at Urban Thinkers Challenge, Mumbai on Reimagining cities from a gender and youth perspective.
Akshat Singhal is a Co-Founder of The Gender Lab - a non profit that works towards empowering adolescents and youth to question gender narratives through critical thinking and meaningful engagement in their communities. Within The Gender Lab, Akshat works on engaging men and boys in gender equality through the redefining masculinities vertical. Akshat was selected as one of the 50 World Economic Forum Global Shapers to attend the 2014 Annual Forum in Davos, Switzerland. He is an alumnus of Global Shapers network, an UnLtd India fellow (2013-2015) and Asia Foundation Development Fellow 2019 and was a co-recipient of Lotus Leadership Award 2020 by The Asia Foundation for the commitment towards engaging men and boys in building gender equality.
